When a business grows to more than one office, a tool like QuickBooks that everyone needs to share suddenly gets complicated. Which office holds the “real” company file? How does the other location work in it without things breaking or slowing to a crawl? The old workarounds — a VPN back to one office’s server, or worse, passing files around — are slow, fragile, and risky. There’s a much better way.
A real project: one accounting firm, two offices
A Fort Myers and Naples-based accounting firm needed both of their offices working in the same QuickBooks environment, at full speed, without the multi-user headaches. We built them a central Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environment that we host — both locations simply log into the same fast, secure Windows desktop where QuickBooks lives. Everyone works in one shared setup, no matter which office they’re sitting in.
Why a hosted RDS setup wins
| Benefit | What it means day to day |
|---|---|
| One shared environment | Every office works in the same QuickBooks — no file juggling |
| Fast for everyone | The heavy lifting happens on the server, not over a slow connection |
| Secure and backed up | Data lives in one controlled, protected, backed-up place |
| Work from anywhere | Staff can log in from either office, home, or on the road |
Especially valuable for accounting and professional firms
For accounting, bookkeeping, and professional-services firms — where several people are in the books at once and busy season is unforgiving — a central hosted environment removes a whole category of problems. Everyone is in the same place, it’s fast, and the data is protected. During tax season, that reliability is worth a lot.
Built and hosted by us
Because we design, host, and support the whole environment, there’s one team responsible for it end to end — the server, the security, the backups, and the day-to-day support. If your multi-office team is fighting over QuickBooks, there’s a cleaner way to run it. Junopi builds and hosts central RDS environments for small businesses. Let’s talk about yours.
